Welcome back MIG fans!
Firstly an apology for the late wrap from the last two weekends, like many of us, this editor has been overrun with end of year deadlines and events (and a bit of sickness just to add to the cocktail of December fun). But don't let that take away from an entertaining and equally massive round wrap. The 3rd grade and Frankies wraps especially deserve a read, but so does Clark's Chap boys wraps. Plenty of matches to recap, so I won't waste your time describing what to expect below. But first we need to promote three events - one of the best days of the Warringah calendar year, Our Golf Day; our Christmas Party which is this weekend; and a new event coming which we hope our local junior park sides will get right behind:
Before we recap the cricket for the round just gone, be sure to visit our sponsor's page to learn more about who they are, what they do, how they can help you or if you would like to inquire about our sponsorship packages. Additionally, if you would like to learn more about who the amazing people are that make our club tick, you can do so in the Positions of Responsibility section on our About Us page.
Round 7
Warringah
180
R Sheahan 42, J Terry 39, C McKay 29*
Strathfield
4/182
M Munro 3-39, R Outred 1-20
Warringah lost by 6 wickets.
The boys arrived at Airey Park for the now one day fixture, looking to kickstart their, so far, difficult campaign. Things started well as Davo looked in great touch, nailing a few boundaries within the first couple of overs. However, it took a turn when captain Hamish fell to a good catch and Jack and Davo followed soon after leaving the men in green three down cheaply and in some trouble. Regan was joined by Barney and they worked hard to grind throughout the middle overs, but the Strathfield bowlers proved effective at suffocating the batters, limiting the run rate. Barney fell, being caught at mid on which brought debutant Jay to the crease. He and Regan looked positive before the latter fell unfortunately strangled down the leg side for a hard fought 42. Jay looked to put the foot on the accelerator and found some decent touch, hitting some nice boundaries but the Strathfield bowlers remained on top as wickets continued to fall. Jay fell for 39, which only brought Cal Mckay to the wicket. He and Matt Munro looked to salvage a respectable total, running hard and finding the boundary frequently. Cal batted beautifully for his 29* but ultimately the score of 179 all out was always going to be tough to defend on a flat wicket.
The men in green entered the field with some hope of a win coming from the strong end to the innings shown by Cal. He and Roy bowled tight up top to apply some pressure back on Strathfield with an early wicket to Roy, the catch being absolutely swallowed (almost literally) by Barney at mid on. Some real hope of a win came when Munners found a couple of quick wickets and Strathfield were 3-40. This only lasted so long though, as Strathfield built a strong partnership through the middle overs with both batsmen hitting 50s and looking very comfortable on what was now a road and a very old and ragged ball. Strathfield crossed the line 4 down, with the men in green suffering another difficult day. Despite this, there is still serious hope for the season and the boys will look to bounce back hard next week!

Warringah won by 10 wickets.
With a week 1 wash out the table topping 2s boys were toey for action on Saturday. Losing the toss saw the good guys bowl first where Moly was the star taking 5-26 en route to bowling strathy out for 70 in 27 overs. Our chase started shakily losing richo early however Kaz (64) and Jarod (65) put on 122 for the second wicket, hitting a combined 18 boundaries and 3 sixes. A Waka (33*) cameo helped to push the MIGs score up to 185 off 25 overs with cookie calling the boys in to have a crack at 10 points.
Have a crack we did. Liam Filmer-Ramsay. LFR. Warnie. Spin to win proved the mantra in the second dig as the spin king Liam took 6-37 with every ball bowled seemingly creating a chance. Moly chipped in again with 2-38. Liam finished with match figures of 8-50 off 15 and Moly 7-64 off 20. Strathfield finished with a 13 run lead which Will (8*) and Jarod (7*) chased down in 3 overs giving 2s a valuable 10 points as we go into the final round before Christmas.

Day 2 of what was supposed to be a two-day match against Strathfield saw the Migs playing our first day of the fixture as a fifty-over match. After last week’s mishap, where someone had taken the covers off the pitch in drizzling rain—as if they didn’t want to play—canceled the day’s play before it even started. Where most of us were spared the long journey to Strathfield, except for the early risers. This time, everyone made the tricky journey to Bark Huts Reserve. That began with the curious peeling back of the covers that revealed lingering wet patches, now transformed into fresh green patches from the previous week. Despite this, the pitch looked promising, with hints of early movement that promised to settle into a road under the western sun. Winning the toss, Ruben opted to bowl, looking to take advantage of the conditions.
The match began in typical third-grade chaos: wides, edges, disproven appeals, a flurry of well-timed hacks, and a handful of proper cricket shots saw Strathfield racing to 70 without loss in just 9 overs. Their opener, fresh off a 163-run effort the previous week, led the charge. Enter Charlie Wilson. His tight spell, complemented by Kuchel’s accuracy, turned the tide. Charlie claimed 3 wickets, including bowling the opener top of off as he tried to pull a full one into the changing rooms, only to be there with his bat minutes later.
With spin introduced from both ends, Kuchel and Ruben tightened the screws, taking crucial wickets and burgling overs of the Stratfieldians. Then came the well-rested, fully hydrated, raring-to-go Beau Kelley, partnered with Burkey returning from his opening spell. The pair cleaned up the tail, dismissing Strathfield for 166 in around 40 overs—a strong start for the men in green.
Ruben and Harry opened the batting after a sweltering lunch break. Where the murky dressing rooms offered no respite from the heat, making the team searched for the limited shade on the baking oval. Ruben and Harry began confidently, with some elegant straight drives and a towering six from Harry that narrowly missed the kids on the residing basketball court.
Their opening stand of 100 laid a solid foundation. However, Zac fell to an outswinger, followed by Ruben, out LBW to a ball that hit his chest, evident in the bruise that is probably still there. With 60 runs needed, Singhy and Lachie steadied the ship. Singhy’s brief but explosive knock included a massive six that went as high as it did long, while Lachie batted with patience.
At 134, Strathfield brought back their opener, who snagged quick wickets, including Singhy and Dusty, with impressive deliveries they could do little about. Zac then joined Lachie, and the pair batted risk-free to guide the team home to a resounding early victory. Continuing their undefeated season (2 draws and a bye), third grade now sit third on the table. They look forward to hosting Roseville next week at the familiar Frank Grey Oval for the final round of the year.

Warringah won by 4 wickets.
After a first week washout the MIG4s we're having a bowl first at frank gray against Strathfield with Carlo and Ryan opening. The chatter started very quickly in the cordon as the boys saw there opening batter walk out with a go pro on his helmet. Carlo managed to get the first wicket of the game after the openers were going hard from the jump. After a slow mid period of the game 'TK' came on for a bowl taking an amazing 3/10 after 3 overs. Carlo also came back on tearing the tail end with stunning figures of 4/40 after 13 overs.
This saw the 4s boys chasing 155 with still around 70 overs left in the day. Despite 2 early wickets we saw both the Ollie's join the crease a lot earlier than expected. 'Goldsy ' despite feeling really unwell put on a show for us boys scoring an amazing 62. Ollie higgins decided he wanted to match him and also put on a great knock of 62 aswell. Will Toohey got us the winning runs to give the 4s a great win.

P Clift 4/23, R Rulli 2/40, C Dickson 1/18
Warringah won by 2 wickets.
Warringah bowled first with Cooper Dickson and Murray Moran opening the bowling. Openers put pressure on with scoring quick runs. Clifty came into the attack and struck quickly dismissing the opener and first drop. Runs started leaking for Warringah until Seth Thompson took out the other opening batter. Runs immediately tightened up leading to Clifts third. The pressure kept piling on Balmain when Harry O’Sullivan threw in an awesome direct hit run out to take the 6th wicket. Leading towards the end of the innings, wickets fell and Cooper Dickson took two in a row to finish the innings.
The Warringah openers Alfie Gatehouse and Harry O’Sullivan took on the first over and immediately struck pressure onto Balmain with a 16 run over. Both openers were shortly bowled when Seth and Angus came out to bat. Both were looking very solid until Seth was dismissed. Darcy came to the crease showing intent and running hard between the wickets. Angus departed shortly after with a well made 29. Rocco and Darcy were slowly gaining back momentum into the game until Darcy’s wicked fell. Stu Higgins came in and was showing good signs but departed a couple overs later. Murray came to the crease and said took a little to have a look. Rocco and Murray were looking like doing it themselves when Murray departed on 15 and shortly after Rocco on 29. The pressure was back into Warringah with 9 wickets down but Harley Cruickshank and Cooper Dickson batted unreal knocking around singles and hitting the bad ball away to secure the win for Warringah.

O Hansen 3/29, J Godwin 2/10, O Fairchild 2/28
Warringah won by 114 runs.
After a long drive out to Bensons lane the boys were ready to go. Warringah lost the toss and got sent in to bat on a flat and hard wicket. Paddy and Oscar get off to a flyer with runs coming easy. At the 10 over mark the boys were 0/40. Paddy and Oscar keep on building with runs coming easy and start building a great partnership. At the drinks break Warringah were 0/74 a great start!. Unfortunately Paddy gets dismissed on 43 at the 22nd over breaking the 110 run partnership. Dipan joins Oscar at the crease and looks positive and batting with a great intent. Oscar reached his half century for the 2nd time this season and at the 30th over Warringah were 1/144. Oscar and Dipan put on a 66 run partnership but unfortunately Dipan gets LBW in the 38th over. This makes Warringah 2/176. Billy comes in at number 4 and plays some nice shots but unfortunately gets dismissed for 7. This makes the score 3/211. Harry McCracken joins Oscar at the crease and rotates the strike well. Oscar Sinclair is still going strong and brings up his maiden hundred for the club putting the team in a great position. Oscar then starts freeing his arms and starts pumping the bowler hitting the ball straight down the ground. Unfortunately in the 49th over a great innings came to an end with Oscar falling for 123. Ashwen joins Harry at the crease and pushes hard right to the end. At the end of the innings Warringah finished 2/258 a great batting innings.
After a nice lunch break the boys were eager to get out there and have a bowl. Ollie Fairchild and Oscar Hansen open the bowling and apply great pressure with the first wicket coming in the 6tth over with a great piece of feilding from Harry to run the batter out. The lads had their tails up and 2 overs later Oscar Hansen got his first wicket getting the batsmen caught behind. The boys had Hawkesbury 2/10 and knew they were in the game. All of a sudden a wicket fell the next over with Ollie fairchild picking up his first wicket bowling a beautiful delivery getting the batsmen caught behind and Billy Kwan taking a comfortable catch. A great opening spell from both Oscar and Ollie have put the MIGS in a great position. Lewis and Quassim then came on and Lewis picked up a wicket very quickly with a screamer of a catch from Harry McCracken Quassim also picked up a wicket with a beautiful ball that nipped back and hit off stump. Josh Godwin came on and picked up a wicket with an easy catch to Lewis at point. These MIGs were up and about with the score at 5/45. Oscar and Ollie came back on and Oscar picked 2 more wickets and Ollie got one more. The score now is 9/81. Although there number 11 puts up a fight and starts hitting sixes and 4s. The boys start to get fed up so Oscar Sinclair decided to bring on Josh Godwin for his second spell. Suddenly Josh traps the batter in front and the MIGS get the win by 114 runs.
Round 9
Warringah

J Pike 46*, F Sorohan 11, J Day 4*
Burwood Briars Maoon
63
L Clarke 4/14, F Schneidereit 2/10, N Kolodzinski 2/16
Warringah won by 9 wickets.
Well the weather gods were on our side this weekend! When we arrived at the ground to take on Burwood we were sceptical that the ground and wicket would have survived the rain. To our delight the wicket and ground was in mint condition! We lost the toss and Burwood opted to bat first which suited us as we wanted to Bowl! Cooper Vickery (0-6) off 8 overs and Lucas Clarke (4/14) opened the bowling with an amazing bowling partnership keeping Burwood to single figures after 12 overs.
There was a special highlight in slips with the skipper taking “another” one handed screamer!! Yes that’s right!😊
This was then backed up by another great bowling partnership with Nixon Kolodzinski (2/16) and Connor Mulchay (1/10) taking us to drinks well on top of the men from the suburb they call Burwood…
After Drinks we continued more of the same and then turned to Spin with Freddie taking a wicket first ball! (2/10) and Harrison Fear finishing off the tail! (1/1) off 1 The run chase!! Chasing 64 for victory James Pike was the star with an unbeaten 46 not out steering us home for a dominant bonus point win!
Up the Chap Boys!
Round 10
Warringah
171
W Cunningham 53, H fear 45, J Pike 38
Roseville
178
N Kolodzinski 3/28, W Cunningham 3/29, C Vickery 3/43
Warringah lost by 7 runs.
It was an important game for us today against Roseville. One we wanted to win to entrench us in the hunt for the finals…
Today we welcomed back Will Cunningham who partnered with Cooper Vickery and opened up the bowling. Both boys snagged 3 wickets each in their spells taking key wickets. Unfortunately at times again dropped catches plagued us again dropping another 4. However Jack Day took a really sharp catch in the gully which was impressive (after a big night!). Nixon Kolodzinksi contributed with the wickets also snaring 3 late in the innings! Our Spin duo was key combining to help to stem the flow of runs to keep Roseville to a total of 178.. The runs chase - 4.5 runs an over.
Today was a better start. James Pike again providing another steady innings of (38) batting in partnership with Will Cunningham (53) with another half century really put us in a position to win the game at drinks. We had to go at 5 an over for the remaining overs and after a few quick wickets in came Harrison Fear who showed “no fear” and dazzled us all with a brilliant display of limited overs batting blasting 45 off 40 with some massive 6s as well to keep us in the game till the last over when finally Roseville took the 10th wicket to win by 7 runs. Another great game, one we should have probably won but wasn’t to be..
Round 4
Warringah
5/237
J Terry 80, W Davidson 69, J Stearman 62*
Lane Cove
7/235
J Terry 2/20, H Burke 2/36, A Bennett 1/37
Warringah won by 5 wickets.
After a hot summers day on Saturday, The Frankie’s boys were pumped for another scorching Sunday full of cricket. The pitch was an absolute highway and the outfield might as well been a bowling green. Of course we lost the toss and Lane cove elected to bat putting our attack up to the test with the ball. The first wicket took some time to fall after the pace attack of Cal and Bourkey struggled to find a way through. Spin brought the first wicket with some clinically tight spin bowling from Jay T (2/20) followed by Molly (1/49) and Reags. The deck continued to get flatter and flatter as the day went on, so Molly introduced the sharp Aiden (Dougie) Bennet, into the attack alonside some seriously tight bowling from Harry (Bourkey) Bourke which brought the fall of 3 quick wickets bringing lane cove’s total to 5/100 after 30 overs. A huge partnership by the Lane cove skipper saw them climb to 6/200 after 45 overs and after 50 overs lane cove finished 7/235. A huge effort from the bowling attack.
After leaving the field a little dissatisfied with the bowling performance the MIG were in for a huge run chaise and lane cove thought they had the game won. But boy were they wrong. Introducing Will (davo) Davidson (69 off 56) and Jay (JT) Terry with an enormous 132 run partnership off 18 overs smashing lane cove out of the park, leaving them shell shocked. But the job was not finished, Jack Stearman continued on with Jay with some luxurious batting before Jay (80 off 73) was dismissed with a sharp catch from there keeper taking the MIG to 2/176. Reags and Jacko continued for 20 odd runs before another sharp catch saw the end of Reags seeing the score reach 3/193. We then made things a bit harder for ourselves with the fall of 2 more wickets in the same over leaving us at 5/193, however, Jacko (62* off 85) and Johnno (12*) steered the ship with some clutch stroke play and a huge bomb down the ground off a free-hit by Johnno. The total was chased down in the 39th over proving to the Frankie’s boys after 2 easy wins that the competition is in some serious trouble leading into the last round and finals !
