2021-22 Season Wrap

2021-22 Season Wrap
To Warringah Cricket Club players, members, friends and associates,

It's been a little while since our presentation night at Dee Why RSL, but now that our annual report has been written (another stellar job Parko!), our AGM has been had, and we've had time to sort through the photos to pick out a primo selection, we would like to share a summary of our season and our awards night. There are so many people who helped our night to be such a success, and we know we will miss a few so we're sorry for that.

But we would like to mention Deb Kasmar our events coordinator for her work in making the night look 5 star, for Matt 'Buggy' Anderson for stepping into host last minute as covid hit our MC (we were probably better off!), to Mayor Michael Regan for stepping away from his duties in fixing the weather-struck disaster zone that can be the Northern Beaches to fulfil his role as club patron, to Katinga Shroeder of Women and Children First refuge for her efforts in developing a budding new partnership with us, and to Dee Why RSL for being so accommodating as our host venue and major sponsor for season 2021/2022.

Mike Fittler Trophy

WCC's Players' Player

Ben Cook

The Mike Fittler Trophy is an award given to the leader of a club wide vote from the players at the conclusion of the season. This is one of the most coveted awards in the club. It is usually awarded to the person that is the greatest value on and off the field, not necessarily being based on performance. Players choose for whatever reason - it’s the players vote.

Alex Anderson Trophy

WCC's Player of the Year

Tully Moffat

The Alex Anderson Trophy is an award given to the leader of a tally of the votes from the each captain's 3-2-1 issued after each match. The Player of the year award is given to the highest achieving player across the board based on 321 votes from round and finals fixtures.

President's Award

Discretionary Award from WCC's President

Deb Kasmar

This is the Presidents award. They may call for nominations, but it is often given to a standout individual in the club, an unsung hero of the season that was. This is not necessarily issued every year. The President's Award is a discretionary award given out by the prez for a very deserving recipient.

Bruce Loudon Trophy

WCC's Club Person of the Year

Tim Bourke

Bruce Loudon is Warringah Cricket Club's founding father. Along side Frank Gray and Alex Anderson he helped set up and create Warringah cricket club from the ground up. The Club person of the year trophy is the highest honour one can achieve at Warringah, with the recipient usually demonstrating a large amount of dedication, commitment and hard work behind the scenes to help make Warringah a better place for that given season.
